Mark Gagliardi (gag-lee-ar’-dee) has an academic background in quantitative analysis, finance, and resource economics, and particular expertise and experience as a California local government Zero Waste staff lead for greenhouse gas inventories and climate action plans. 


He has more than 25 years of operations and administrative management experience in sustainability and waste reduction, with half a dozen cities and consultants on the right and left coasts; and with the youth development, job-training, and educational non-profit East Bay Conservation Corps — now Civicorps, — in Oakland, CA.


Mark has chaired the Executive Committee of the Recyclers Global Warming Council of the California Resources Recovery Association since 2009, and served a member since its 2007 charter.

He received CRRA’s Service Award in 2014 in recognition of the Council’s work under his leadership in monitoring, researching, and advocating an array of Zero Waste Climate Protection initiatives including:


Mark is a semi-professional musician and avid outdoor enthusiast, who thanks God for the blessings of his daily bicycle commute, family life with his spouse and two kids, and the richness of life both indoors and outdoors in the Oakland Bay Area.
